Jack Bishop is the editorial director at America’s Test Kitchen. He joined the staff of The Cook's Magazine in 1988 and helped with the launch of Cook's Illustrated in 1993. He has written dozens of articles for both magazines and established the tasting protocols used at America's Test Kitchen. Jack edited The Best Recipe (1999) and established the books division at America's Test Kitchen. He also codirected the launch of Cook's Country magazine in 2005. Jack is a cast member of the two America’s Test Kitchen public television series, America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country TV. He is a regular guest on the Today show and has written five cookbooks, including The Complete Italian Vegetarian Cookbook (1997), Vegetables Every Day (2001), and A Year in a Vegetarian Kitchen (2004). Jack is a self-taught cook with good taste but awful knife skills. He lives in New York with his wife, a former pastry chef and current food writer, and their two teenage daughters. Jack is an avid runner, movie buff, and novel reader. He has been a member of a local community farm for more than a decade and spends his summer weekends harvesting green beans and pulling carrots.
