After earning a finance degree at William and Mary and spending seven years battling the male-dominated world of New York Real Estate and International Banking, Sarah needed a change. She enrolled in the French Culinary Institute to pursue a career in cooking, eventually working elbow deep in, well, another male-dominated field. Grunting her way through many of New York’s and France’s finest kitchens, including Gramercy Tavern, Vong, Tabla, Michel Bras, and L’Arpege, Sarah eventually landed in Boston’s Pigalle Restaurant. She came to the realization that with a baby on the way and a chef/husband who also works around the clock, it was really time for a change. Enter America’s Test Kitchen. Hired as a Test Cook for Cook’s Illustrated magazine, Sarah has wound her way through the office working for the book team and is now as Associate Editor on the SIP Team, developing recipes for the 30-Minute Suppers magazine. When not climbing seventy seven stairs to her office at ATK, Sarah can be found chasing her two young daughters around, while thinking of crafty ways to have an uninterrupted, five-minute conversation with her husband.
