How long does it take to complete a course?

America's Test Kitchen Cooking School offers courses and lessons of different durations. You can spend as much or as little time as you’d like with a course. With our unique membership model you can study on your own time and at your own pace.

What are Cooking Basics

Cooking Basics help students gain confidence in the kitchen and achieve greater success with recipes by reviewing topics such as food safety, stocking your pantry, and when and how to measure ingredients.

What are Technique Lessons

Technique Lessons are single-subject lessons that offer a focused experience for a student with a specific passion or interest. Students can expect to spend anywhere from four to five hours on each section of the lesson, including cooking time.

What are Recipe Lessons

Each of these unique lessons explains how the recipe works, warns you about potential missteps, and shows you the entire process—from the first prep step to serving. Depending on the lesson you choose, recipes can take anywhere from 30 minutes to five hours to prepare and cook from start to finish.

What are In-depth Courses

For those ready to make a more significant commitment to their culinary education, our In-Depth Courses are based on the professional classes offered to students at culinary schools. These courses will take your skills to the next level by teaching you to master the fundamental techniques that will help you enjoy a lifetime of good cooking.
